Kelmarsh Hall Basement Project

Kelmarsh Hall is a Grade I listed 18th century country house, in Northamptonshire.

Following on from the incredibly successful and award-winning conservation of the John Fowler/Nancy Lancaster decorative scheme in the Great Hall and South Stair, Campbell Smith & Co were again appointed to undertake the conservation, restoration and specialist decoration works within the Basements at the Hall.

The Campbell Smith Conservation Team undertook very light dry cleaning and consolidation of the delicate painted surfaces and lining papers, working within the conserve as found approach. Our conservators also undertook careful colour matching of new repairs to walls and joinery, throughout the basements.
