Royal Albert Hall 1871 Bar

South Kensington

The Royal Albert Hall, an iconic landmark, has been an incredible setting for transformation. The work done by Cousins and Campbell Smith, in collaboration with CJC Designs, on the 1871 Bar beautifully balances the rich history of the building with modern design aesthetics. The challenge of applying a square – patterned paper to a round ceiling and working within a tight four-week timeline demonstrates impressive craftsmanship and adaptability.

The introduction of various colours and evolving paint choices adds a dynamic, complementary feel to the space, ensuring it remains vibrant and engaging for visitors. The mix old-world charm and contemporary flair has likely brought fresh energy to the venue while respecting its historical significance.
